Dr. Johnathan McTaggart
A native of Niagara, Dr. Johnathan McTaggart graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 2000. He worked in various primary care and emergency veterinary practices, until settling in at Borderview Veterinary Hospital (BVH) in Fort Erie. Since 2012 he has been “Veterinarian, Owner and Chief Optimist” at BVH, and added the same title at Pelham Animal Hospital (PAH) in July of 2019! He is thrilled to lead PAH into the future as Dr. Bellingham transitions into his new role “full-time grandpa”.
Dr. McTaggart loves meeting people, and their pets. He strives to provide optimal pet care, focusing on quality care, client education and building relationships. He is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO), the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) And the American Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS). Dr. McTaggart has a longstanding professional interest in veterinary dentistry and spends a large portion of his professional time diagnosing and treating a variety of oral and dental diseases.
When not working, Johnathan enjoys cycling, kayaking, strategy board games, chopping wood and family time with his wife, Jennifer and their two children. They share their home with two aristocratic cats (Jasmine & Knight), and Dave, their “purebred Stevensville farm dog”.
